In July 2024, the Aussie NSUers Association (aka OzNSUers)—the North South University (NSU) alumni community in Australia—formally welcomed NSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Atiqul Islam. During his visit, the OzNSUers Executive Board, representing the university’s largest international alumni network, met with Professor Islam to discuss the organisation’s ongoing activities, mission, and long-term vision.
The board members in attendance included President S Moudud, Vice President Nahar A Disha, Secretary General M Tazim Tareque, Founder Member and Former President Shahidur Rahman Mridu, alongside Department Secretaries Mehedi Reza Boni, Foisol Siddique, Jannatul Fatema Chowdhury Moushumi, Mahmuda Farin, Bushra Ahmed, and Sameen Newaz.
During the discussions, the Vice-Chancellor shared NSU’s strategic plans and upcoming initiatives designed to support both current students and the global alumni community. Following the formal meeting, the group spent an extended period enjoying a warm, wide-ranging conversation, exchanging thoughts on various topics concerning Bangladesh, Australia, and developments within the broader education sector.
