OzNSUers with Sydney’s Bangladeshi Community raised $23,800 for Cancer Council at the largest morning tea event
Bangladesh Forum for Community Engagement has been working hand in hand with Cancer Council Australia passionately to raise funds in finding a cure in cancer research, support, prevention and improve the lives of everyone affected by the disease. They have named their event as “Good Morning Bangladesh”. For last 15 years in the month of May Bangladesh Forum has been successfully hosting this fundraising event with thousands of spontaneous attendees from different communities who gets together for a Cuppa for cancer. Aussie NSUers Association got involved with Bangladesh Forum for this noble cause to help raising funds for Cancer Council. This was OzNSUers’ second successive years with Good Morning Bangladesh. We have been given the sole responsibility of serving tea in the event along with Jhal Muri and soft drinks. Tea is an immensely popular and relaxing drink that facilitates conversation, catching up of friends and acquaintances and we are glad that we did it.
The event was filled with tastes and aromas of a wide variety of traditional Bangladeshi flavoured breakfast items. Attendees were quite enthusiastic knowing every dollar they were spending was counted as donations. That is probably the most rewarding way to enjoy foods!
The feedback has been incredible! We keep receiving phone calls, text messages from many attendees congratulating us and telling us about the wonderful time they had in the event. Aussie NSUer Association is extremely proud and grateful to be associated with Bangladesh Forum in their journey with Cancer Council to beat this deadly disease. This year alone Bangladesh Forum contributed $23,800 which brings the total contribution to Cancer Council from Bangladesh Community to $153,701.45.
